Cholar Daler (Lenits) Halwa Recipe for Shob-A-Barat:
It’s my favorite Halwa. Always my mom cooks it on Shob-A-Barat.  There I am sharing recipe of my favorite Halwa. Look at below.

Note: It’s not suitable for diabetic patient.










Ingredients for Cholar Dal(Lentils) Halwa:

250 gm Cholar Dal (Lentils)
250 gm of grounded Jiggery (Gur)
5 Cloves (Loung)
½ cup of grated coconut (Narikel)
3 table spoons of Poppy Seeds
1 cup of Clarified Butter (Ghee)
50 grams of cashew nuts (Kaju Badam)
50 grams of Sultanas (Munnaqay)
Water as required
Salt to test



Method of Preparation (How to Cook):

01. In a dish soak the cholar dal (lentils) for 2 hours.
02. Now aeat 4 cups of water in a deep pan or pot.
03. Add the Cholar Dal (lentils) and cook it in the pan until it is soft.
04. When it becomes soft, remove from heat and allow sometimes for cool. Then grind it finely and keep aside.
05. Now heat the 2tbsp Ghee (butter) in a non-stick pen.
06. Add powder the poppy seeds and the dry coconut, heat for few seconds.
07. Now add the cashew nuts and sultanas, fry till becomes golden color. Drain out the ghee or oil and set aside.
08. In the remaining ghee or oil, while it is still on the fire; add the cloves and the grinded vholar dal (lentils) with water. And mix the heated powdered poppy seeds, dry coconut, vashew nuts and sultanas.
09. When it starts boiling add the jiggery (gur).
10. Keep stirring until it becomes dark brown.
11. When it becomes enough thick, then remove from heat and transfer in plan dish. Then keep aside for cool.
12. If want you can pieces it on your desired shape.
13. And garnish with the sliced cashew nuts and sultanas.

Bengali Dessert - Sujir (Semolina) Halwa Recipe

Bengali Dessert - Sujir (Semolina) Halwa Recipe:
There given below one more Bengali delicious dessert ‘Sujir Halwa’. You can cook it on home just follow the given recipe.

Note: It's not suitable for diabetic patient.









Ingredients for Suji (Semolina) Halwa:

2 cup Suji (Semolina)
3 cup whole milk
3 cup water
1 & 1/2 cup sugar
6 table spoon ghee (butter)
1 & 1/2 tea spoon cardamom (Elachi) powder
Raisin as required
Cashew nuts as required
Sliced almonds as required
Salt to test



Method of Preparation (How to Cook):

01. First heat the ghee in a small pan or pot.
02. Mix cardamom with ghee and fry for few seconds in medium heat.
03. Now add the Suji (Semolina) and fry it for few minutes with constant stirring in low-medium heat.
04. Add sugar and half of both raisin, and cashew nut. Heat for few more minutes in low-medium heat or until Suji (Semplina) and nut becomes golden color.
05 When it becomes golden color, Add water and milk. Mix all ingredients finely and heat until becomes thick.
06. When it’s become enough thick, just remove from heat and transfer on plan dish and allow sometime for cool.
07. After cool you can pieces it on your desired shape and garnish with remaining raisin, cashew nuts and sliced almonds.
08. Now its ready for serve.

Bengali Dessert - Badam (Almond) Halwa Recipe:
Shob-A-Barat is a very impotent religious day for Bengali Muslim people. They cook different kind of Halwa in this day. The Bengali traditional dessert ‘Badam Halwa’ is one of them. There given below the recipe of Badam Halwa.

Ingredients for Badam(Groundnut) Halwa:

2 cups chinabadam (Groundnut)
I cup Milk powder
Water - 1cup
Sugar - 1cup
2 table spoons ghee (Butter)
½ tea spoon Powdered cardamom
2 table spoons kissmiss (raisin)
½ cup Kajubadam (cashew nuts)



Method of Preparation (How to Cook):

01. Remove the coating of the groundnut and grind it coarsely.
02. Now boil the water and mix finely the milk powder in water.
03. Mix grinded groundnut, sugar and ghee (butter).
04. Keep it on fire and stir it constantly.
05. After it becomes thick, mix Powdered Cardamom.
06. When it’s ready, remove from heat and transfer in plan dish.
07. Now allow sometime to cool and cut the halwa into your desired shapes.
08. And decorate it with sliced kajubadam (cashew nuts) and kissmiss (raisin).

Ingredients for Gajor (Carrot) Halwa:

2 cups grated carrot (Gajor)
3 liter milk
1 cup whole dried milk (mawa)
4 cups sugar
4 table spoons ghee (butter)
½ tea spoon cardamom powder
Sliced badam (almond) as required
Pestabadam (cashew nuts) as required
Cashew nuts as required
Raisin as required



Method of Preparation (How to Cook):

01. First heat the milk in a deep saucepan and bring it boil.
02. Now add grated carrot and keep it on fire and stir constantly until it becomes thick.
03. Now add sugar, cardamom powder, cashew nuts, sliced almond and raisin.
04. After adding above ingredients, continuously stir for 6-8 minutes.
05. Now add ghee (butter) and mawa. Stir well and cook on low heat until ghee start separating.
06. When Halwa is ready, remove from heat and transfer on plan dish and allow it cool.
07. Now cut the Halwa into your desired shapes and add the sliced almond, kajubadam (cashew nuts) and kissmiss (raisin) on top of Halwa.
