Thandi is a very popular and refreshing summer drink. The drink is an instant energizer in hot summer days. Thandi is milk based sweet drink with lots of dry fruits and flavored spices It’s a Indian drink. Read following recipe to prepare this sweet refreshing summer drink.
Ingredients for Thandi:
1 liter Milk
2-3 cup Water
10-12 peppercorns
1/2 table spoon aniseed
1 table spoon almonds
Few saffron strands
1/2 tea spoon cardamom powder
1 table spoon dried watermelon seeds
1/2 table spoon poppy seeds
1/4 cup fresh rose petals
1/2 cup Sugar
Method of Preparation (How to Cook):
01. First boil the milk in a pot and allow sometime to cool.
02. Meanwhile soak aniseed, almonds, watermelon seeds, poppy seeds and rose petals in 2 cups of water.
03. Grind finely all the soaked ingredients to make a smooth paste.
04. And pour remaining water into this paste and strain through muslin strainer.
05. Extract the liquid into a vessel and mix the sugar, peppercorns, powdered cardamom, and saffron and mix all finely.
06. Put the mixer in a blender and add milk. Now blend finely.
07. Before serving keep it an hour in refrigerator for chill.
